Welcome to On Line Help

Login to ParentCONNECTxp
Click the Login button to access the login page to enter your userid and password.

Register to ParentCONNECTxp
Click the Register button to access the registration page. Follow these steps to register for a userid and password:

1. If you see a dialog box informing you that the information is being sent over the web is secure, click the Ok button.

2. Complete the registration form. Enter the information in the displayed fields including the student name, district school attending, and grade level.

3. Click the Submit button to process your registration.

4. You now have to visit the district office to get your userid and password. Please bring a photo identification and current utility bill.

What is ParentCONNECTxp
ParentCONNECTxp is designed to link parents and schools together via the Internet. It enables parents to access their children's school records including such information as  assignments, school announcements and current progress.  E-mail capability is also provided for improved communication between parents and the school.

Security
Once the school gives the parent, a user login and password, access to ParentCONNECTxp is easy.  All you need is a computer and access to the Internet.  You can only view information on  particular student, if you are a registered user with an authorized password for that student.  For example, although you are authorized to view your child's records, your authorization does not permit you to view the records of your neighbour's children.

Navigation
There are several major categories of information such as student information, school information, etc. displayed as pencils on the left side of the screen.  To jump to one of the designated categories, simply click a pencil.  Sometimes all of the information may be displayed on one page - other times, the user can click the hyperlinks or buttons to view more detailed information.

On Every Page
The header bar is displayed on every page. Embedded in this header are several buttons which are hyperlinks -  the NCS website on the left and the links to the Home Page, to Help and to Settings are on the right. The Student Selection button is embedded in this header.

  • Student Selection List
    This list displays a drop-down list of students for whom the user is authorized.  A different student can be selected on any page and the contents of that page change to reflect the newly selected student's information.
  • Home Page
    This page lists a brief summary of  selected information for all the students accessible to the user.
  • On Line Help
    View On-line help.
  • Customize Settings
    This page enables you to enter your primary e-mail address and Internet browser.  You can also select which Alert Notifications you would like to be informed of.  For example, if you click Discipline Incident, you will be notified, via e-mail, each time your child is involved in a discipline incident. You can also change your e-mail address, your password or your browser from the Settings page.

Change my e-mail address
To change your e-mail address, select the SETTINGS button on the header bar and enter your new e-mail address.  Click the Update button at the bottom of the screen to submit your changes to the school.

Change my Password
To change your password, select the SETTINGS button on the header bar and enter your new password.  Click the Update button at the bottom of the screen to submit your changes to the school.

Print Screen
To print a copy of the screen, select File | Print from the browser menu bar.  When the print dialog box opens, check the settings and click OK.

Fix Printing problems
This application uses your browser and printer software for printing.  If you are unable to print, check your printer and browser settings.  If all the information is not printed, try changing page layout from 'portrait' to 'landscape' mode.

View Summary on One Student
To view a summary on one student, click the Student Info pencil, then click Profile and select the student from the drop-down list in the header bar.

View Summary on Multiple Students
To view as summary on multiple students, select Home Page. This page displays information on all the students that the user has access to.

View Information on a Different Student
To view information on a different student, from any page, select the new student from the drop-down list  displayed in the header bar.  The contents of the page will change to reflect the newly selected student's information.  You must be authorized to view this student's records.

Update Settings for Parent Alerts
To update your settings for Alert Notifications, select the Settings button on the header bar. You can check additional boxes or uncheck boxes under the Alert Notifications selections.  Click the Update button at the bottom of the screen, to submit your changes to the school.  You can also use this form to change your e-mail address, change your password and your Internet browser.

View Attendance Record
To view your child's attendance record, select Attendance Category from the Home page, then select Calendar or Report (text) format.  The Calendar format lists tardies and absences on a calendar page.  If an icon displays on a particular day, hold the cursor over it and more details will be displayed. The Report format itemizes tardies, absences and category totals in a report format.  Using the arrows below the header bar, you can display a previous semester report card.

View Assignments
To view assignments, click the Assignments pencil from the Home page. The information displays in a table format. Click the note icon for more details on the assignment. You can change the time period from the drop-down list.  The choices are: Today & Tomorrow, This Week, Next Week, This Month etc.

View Discipline Records
To view discipline reports, click the Discipline pencil from the Home page.  Select any hyperlink on this page to take you to a details page.

View Immunization Information
To view immunization records, click the Student Info category from the Home page, then click the Immunization button. Information on the selected student is displays in table format.

To view school announcements, click the Announcements button from the Home page or click the School Info category, then click the Announcements button.  A list of current announcements displays.

How often is information posted on the ParentConnect web site
ParentConnect is updated every night. Each time you access ParentConnect you are accessing data from the previous day.

Is there a cost to using ParentConnect
No. ParenConnect is free to all parents with children attending Watkins Glen schools.

How many userIDs can be requested for one family.
If both parents live in the home then one login will be provided. If parents are separated or divorced then each parent can request a login account provided there are no court orders or legal restrictions prohibiting the parent to have access to the child's records.

What if I do not have Internet access at home
ParentConnect can be accessed from any computer with Internet access.

What do I do if I forget my password
You must visit the district office with photo identification and ask for the ParentConnect administrator. NO passwords will be given out over the phone.

Please notify the district office of any inconsistencies with your child's information.

ParenConnect uses the same security and encryption features used in the banking industry.
